Here are a few of the times I’ve written about these “senseless acts of violence” blah blah blah:
- I’ve got a resolution for you…
- As long as you look like me, we’re cool!
- Remember that France & Gay Pride Profile Photo
- Armchair Quarterback
What happened in Orlando is terrible. I’m sad about it. I’m sad about all the other bullshit things that occurred prior to this.
I’m more sad about these “poignant” “touching” moments that are occurring now, will last for about 48 more hours, and will fade as quickly as all of you became so pissed off this morning.
I’m so sorry you’re sad. I’m so sorry you’re angry. I’m so sorry you feel for the Latino community you never knew existed before today. I’m so sorry the guns are still on the street and you’ve just retained your silent outrage at that fact…until this moment when you get to outwardly express it.
To each of you, posting about how pissed you are, once and for fucking all answer this question:
What are you doing,
to change things?
I’ve asked this question multiple times and until you answer this, even for yourself, then shut the fuck up with your outrage and sadness.
It is going to take everyone taking action towards a solution and not just being outraged about where we are. I see a lot of the latter and far too little of the former to be inspired that these moments of truth lead to anything than just more of the same.
And FYI, it’s getting worse, not better.
