I‘ve been a fan of Hamilton since it was announced as opening on Broadway.  I had heard some of the workshop stuff available on YouTube, then watched it skyrocket in to the phenomenon it has become.

In my mind, I always thought I’d make the trip to NYC to see the original cast.   In October 2015, I actually used it as the soundtrack to this video of me filming at the old King 5 studios.

All of that footage is mine, some of the last  filmed prior to King 5 moving to SODO (and the subsequent haunting of sound demons…)

I spend hours in the garden
I walk alone to the store
And it’s quiet uptown
I never liked the quiet before…
If you see him in the street, walking by
himself, taking to himself, have pity…
They are going through the unimaginable.

Lin-Manuel Miranda will step down in his staring role as Alexander Hamilton in the musical this coming July after more than a year in role, and after having written and composed the musical.

The Obama’s have been twice, so has every celebrity on the earth.  I listen to the soundtrack at least once daily…or parts of it.

So last night, I did the unimaginable.

I gave myself the gift of a lifetime.  First class flight, hotel, and third row center orchestra ticket on one of the final few Saturday night performances of Hamilton on Broadway with the original cast and the lead who gave us this great work.

It’s going to be unimaginable.

  1. You should go see Something Rotten while you are in town. Totally different than Hamilton but really well done and hilarious! My friend wrote it.

  2. Dear me….that is a wretched photo. Can you say Dawn has a double chin? Oy-vay! But, the love is there for sure! Can you permanently the photo (not the love) from the Web? Enjoy your NYC trip, Jason!

  3. permanently *delete
