Sing me a rainbow, paint me a dream…
Show me a world that I’ve never seen.
Whisper a sunset, and when you do…
I think you’ll know how I feel,
I think you’ll know how I feel,
I think you’ll know how I feel when I’m with you.

This is the lullaby my father sang to me all the time.  I can hear his words in my ears right now.  I can hear my mother singing “hi, good morning, wake up, wake up” to the tune of the Mickey Mouse Club in the same way, though that was to wake me up.  Click that link — that was my alarm clock for 15 years…which might explain why I hate alarm clocks.

I’ve probably watched Pete’s Dragon 1000 times (clip here), Davey Crocket; King of the Wild Frontiers, and Goofy Over Sports about 1000 times.

A friend posted a teaser for the new Pete’s Dragon movie and it just dug in to these memories a bit.
